Thousands of Germans immigrated to Texas in the early to middle 1800’s. They wanted to escape their repressive government and saw Texas as a land of opportunity. Many Germans settled in central Texas, especially around Fredericksburg.

This map shows this area in green around Fredericksburg called “Deutsche Colonie des Mainzen Vereins. The Gulf of Mexico is “Meerbusen von Mexico”, the Pacific Ocean is “Grosser oder Stiller Ocean”, and the Caribbean is “Caribisches od Antillen Meer.

This beautiful reproduction shows minor natural age spots and has an antique look. There is an altitude chart on the bottom of the map. The map has Mexico, Californien, Die Republiken von Central America, and surrounding states and territories.
